Fractora Q & A

What is Fractora?

Fractora is a groundbreaking skin resurfacing device that is proven successful in treating a wide range of skin irregularities, including:

  • Uneven skin texture
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scarring
  • Cystic acne
  • Scarring from injury
  • Pigmentation
  • Broken blood vessels

Dr. Peters can use Fractora to transform your complexion, giving you a radiant, younger-looking appearance. Fractora can be effective on virtually any part of your face. It is commonly used in the eye area, mouth, forehead, cheeks, and neck.

How does Fractora work?

Fractora has an array of extremely small pins on its surface. Dr. Peters uses the device to send radiofrequency energy through those pins directly into your skin. The microscopic injuries the pins create trigger the healing processes in your skin, which then starts to create new, healthy skin cells.

What’s more, as Fractora sends radiofrequency into your skin, its gentle heat stimulates collagen production. Collagen is the protein in your skin that helps it maintain its smoothness and elasticity.

Some patients will be able to achieve their desired results in just one session. If you have deeper wrinkles or more serious scarring, Dr. Peters can work with you to develop a treatment plan that helps you get your dream skin. Generally, three sessions spaced between four and six weeks apart can offer dramatic results.

What should I expect before and after a Fractora treatment?

Dr. Peters will work with you to ensure that you’re comfortable during your entire procedure. He will apply a topical numbing cream to minimize your discomfort during the treatment.

After treatment, you should expect to see some swelling and redness in the treated area between three and five days. It’s advised that you avoid makeup for the first three days to let the area fully heal.

You will begin to see some minor changes at six weeks and three months but full results can be seen at 6 months with the radio frequency continuing to work over the course of a year.
