Restylane
What is Restylane?
Restylane is hyaluronic acid, which is a naturally occurring sugar found in our skin. It comes in the form of gel which is injected through a needle into different areas of the skin.
Is it better than Botox?
Restylane has a different use than Botox in restoring a youthful appearance. While Botox is effective on improving specific lines, Restylane is best used to fill contours such as the nasolabial folds, corners of the mouth, scars, and provide additional fullness to the lips.
How long does it last?
It appears that most patients' results last about 6 months.
Is there any downtime?
There may be some bruising and swelling. You do not have any specific physical limitations following injection of Restylane.
Does it hurt?
Everyone has a different level of pain threshold. We do provide you with a topical anesthetic which decreases the amount of discomfort but does not eliminate it. Post procedure pain has not been a problem.
